MTV Movie & TV Awards returned to television on Monday, with presenter Zachary Levi and several pop culture favorites.
As far as award shows go, the MTV Movie & TV Awards tend to get lost in the confusion, they do not have the same prestige or the same drama as the MTV Video Music Awards, which will be broadcast later in the summer. Still, the show usually has its fair share of oddities. In case you missed the two-hour broadcast on Monday night, here are some of the best and worst moments.
Dominating this year’s nominations with four each were the main runners “Avengers: Endgame”, who took home the prize for the best movie of the night, and “Game of Thrones”, which won the best show. The Oscar-nominated documentary “RBG” also received four awards, but was surpassed by the best documentary winner of the night “Surviving R. Kelly”.
In addition, Dwayne Johnson received the Generation Award, and Jada Pinkett Smith took home the Trailblazer Award.
